The 3472 provides, via setup mode (for local copy), the ability to specify the area of the screen to be printed, as well as the print select quality, line density, and pitch. - Host Addressable Print is selected in setup mode and allows the host to print to an InfoWindow attached 4201 Model 2 or 3, 4202 Model 2 or 3, 4207 Model 2, 4208 Model 2, 5202 or 5204. - The printer attachment cable should be ordered with the printer or as an accessory using part number 1525612. (Refer to the ACCESSORY AND/OR SUPPLIES section). The printer cable is the same cable that would be used to attach the printer to the Personal System/2 (R). o Rule provides the ability to display the cursor by extending a line both vertically and horizontally. This facilitates finding the cursor on a busy screen, as well as horizontal and/or vertical guides for rows and columns. Stationary Rule feature allows the Rule to remain positioned while the screens change. o VPD and Extended VPD: Vital Product Data, which includes machine type, model, and serial number, is automatically entered into the 3174. Extended VPD provides an additional 320 bytes of data. The 320 data positions are divided into eight distinct areas. Each area contains a 15-byte label and a 25-byte description. This capability, in conjunction with NetView (TM), provides the customer with an asset management facility for the 3472. o Record/pause/play provides a method of reducing keystrokes by recording and playing back often-used data. Up to 4000 keystrokes may be recorded. In setup mode, a data security option allows user to either disable Record/Play or inhibit play back in a protected field. o The response time monitor, alert, and entry assist capability are supported on the IBM 3274 with Configuration Support D and IBM 3174. o The Dual Purpose Connector function allows the 3472 to be attached via coaxial cable or twisted-pair (refer to the IBM 3270 Information Display System or Site Planning manual, GA23-0213 for details). o Adjustable audible alarm, variable auto-dim, and security keylock are standard. Security key is removable in both LOCK and UNLOCK position. o The IBM 7695 Model 250-Bar Bar Code/Magnetic Badge Slot Reader is a high quality, compact decoder unit with a built-in bar code wand (available by RPQ). A connector is provided for an optical bar code or magnetic badge slot reader. The 7695 connects to the 3472 via the keyboard port of the 3472. The 3472 keyboard is then connected to the decoder unit. Input from the decoder unit or the keyboard is perceived as keyboard input by the InfoWindow 3472. o A Tilt/Swivel stand, provided as standard, provides 20 degrees of tilt (plus 15 degrees to minus 5 degrees) and 180 degrees of swivel (plus or minus 90 degrees from the center position) to enable the display to be individually positioned. o Special Features: The Model Conversion Kit (#5050) provides a model change from 3472 FCx to 3472 GCx. The kit includes a new logic unit and publications, including setup instructions. (This feature will be available with the planned availability of the 3472 Model GCx).
