Typewriter section

The "typewriter" section of a keyboard contains the core keys required for generalised typing such as letters, usually a row of numbers, and at least one modifier or lock key to change between uppercase and lowercase. The term is in reference to both literal typewriters and used in documentation for typewriter-style terminal keyboards, which were both intended for general, mixed-case typing as opposed to upper-case only keypunches and data entry keyboards.
