Telephone arrangement

Also known as: telephone style

The telephone arrangement is a style of numeric keypad where the top numbers are 1, 2 and 3. This arrangement is based on what most telephone keypads adopt. It is not common on modern keyboards as the adding machine arrangement is dominant, but it was adopted by IBM Card Punch and most data entry terminal keyboards for their overlay numeric keypads, and by specialised devices such as the IBM Screen Reader Keypad.
