The Model M6-1/ThinkPad UltraNav keyboards were an extension of the standard Model M6-1/ThinkPad pointing stick keyboards that included a programmable trackpad along with the pointing stick. For UltraNav keyboard assemblies for laptops, these were exclusively TrackPoint IV pointing stick keyboards and were produced largely by Alps or NMB. For the discrete keyboards of the SK-8835/SK-884x family, these were Synaptics TouchStyk pointing stick keyboards and produced exclusively by LITE-ON. These 'classic' ThinkPad keyboards were axed by Lenovo around 2012, however, IBM and later Lenovo's x86 server division continued to have SK-8835/SK-884x family keyboards produced well after 2012.
