IBM 3178 Model C3 Display Station EBCDIC Typewriter Keyboard
31XX-87 type Model F
eg, P/N 6052101
IBM-made 87-key, U.S. English only typewriter-style keyboard for the 3270-family IBM 3178 Model C3 Display Station. It is a part of the IBM Model F continuation of the IBM 3270's Base Keyboard lineage that began in the Model B era, specifically implementing the RPQ 8K1038 327X-87 type Model B Base Keyboard's layout originally for [at least] IBM 3278 Model 2 Display Stations. It has a solenoid-based clicker assembly and a blue monocase/dualcase switch (excluding Katakana). Compared to the similar C2 and C4 keyboards, the C3 keyboard has a 12-key combination adding machine style numeric keypad with 24 program-function legends.
